PPO toughness‑modified material improves toughness by introducing elastomers into the resin matrix. A sea‑island two‑phase microstructure is formed. Elastomer particles act as stress concentration points to absorb and disperse impact energy, which greatly raises the notched impact strength and elongation at break. Therefore, finished products are less likely to suffer brittle fracture under external impact. This modification greatly improves the processing flowability of PPO, and meanwhile reduces internal stress and stress‑cracking tendency of products.
